Did the family not learn anything from Michael's life? Why would they want these precious children to attempt to repeat history? Is this really what Michael would have wanted for his children?
Michael Jackson was groomed to perform from a very young age. There is no question that he gave up a normal childhood and adulthood because of his fame. Yes, there is no doubt that Michael Jackson was extremely talented and gifted as an entertainer. It is all he knew. This is what he was raised to do.
He never had a "normal" relationship with a woman. He was able to be a father to three children but he certainly didn't go about becoming a father the old-fashioned way. Because of his sheltered upbringing, he never was able to have a real relationship. He did leave the world with a legacy of his music. He made millions of dollars and shared some of that with charitable donations. He left his children with a large estate. Why can't his family be satisfied with that?
Out of the Jackson children, only daughter Janet has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry. She has made her mark as an actress and singer. The Jackson brothers, while they were successful while a part of the Jackson 5, were unable to reach any measurable successes without Michael.
Critics often blame Michael's "weird" behavior on the fact that to his father, in particular, he was nothing more than a cash cow. Even after his death, both his parents were still trying to live off his money. Now they are afraid that there will not be enough money for the care of the children and their greed so they want to thrust these children into the spotlight.
Yes, it is true that Michael did share his love of music with his children. When he was rehearsing for his final concert, Prince was actually going to perform with his father. Maybe Michael did want his children to be able to perform but no one really knows. Although it appears that Michael deeply loved his children, was he really a good judge of whether or not his children should follow in his footsteps?
He had admitted in interviews in the past about what a lonely childhood he had. He loved to perform and he became alive when he got on stage but leading his life off the stage is where his problems were. The Jackson family certainly knows how hard fame can be. Why would they want that for their young niece and nephew? The idea that either child could possibly possess the talent that Michael did is really unbelievable. The pressure on these children would be huge to try and fill their father's shoes.
There was one Michael Jackson. Let his children live their lives in peace and out of the spotlight. They will live longer and happier lives for it.
